- DTR is sourced by the computer as a control signal to the modem. Look
- to the software as the source. DTR is dropped by your computer, not by
- the modem, and the modem responds per the &Dx setting currently in
- force in the modem when DTR goes inactive. So, it looks like your comm
- software is pulling DTR inactive, for reasons unknown at this point.
- If you have the external Vi, you should be able to see when DTR gets
- de-asserted in the dialup sequence. That isn't to say that the
- software is not detecting some sequence from the modem that is causing
- it to prematurely drop the connection. What is the init string used by
- the Dial-up Adapter? I don't have Win95 up yet, so I can't help from
- that end...
-
- My Vi works great with AOL and the USR BBS with just the AT&F1 string.
- My cable and port fully support hardware handshake--a requirement to
- use the &F1 template.
